Food Court @ Dolmen Mall Tariq Road – Revisited
I did a series of posts named “Karachi’s best kept secrets” back in 2007. It was all about places in Karachi which were not that well known but should have been. One of the places was the food court of Dolmen Mall Tariq Road, which at that time I proclaimed the best food court in Karachi. Over the years it became so popular and hence overcrowded that it was a pain to get a seat in there.
The Dolmen Mall management realized that it was turning people away and dedicated the entire 4th floor of the mall to the newly built food court. Well almost the entire floor as the children play area “Sinbad” has also been shifted on the 4th floor. The point is now there is ample space for everyone to enjoy their favorite eateries.
When the new food court was opened it was a big disappointment as the thing that made the previous food court great, i.e., the number of eating options available to choose from was missing. The new food court opened with only a handful of place of which only OPTP was a well known one and hence got almost all the business in those initial weeks.
However, now more and more eating places have opened up, some new and some of the old favorites as well and Dolmen Mall Tariq Road can easily reclaim their spot as the best food court in town. Plus this time the entire food court has free WIFI so you can even come for a cup of coffee while you work. However, all this could change with the way the upcoming Dolmen City Mall at Clifton is shaping up. If the mall is anything to go by, the food court is going to be fantastic.
