Karachi’s best kept secrets – Part 3
And here I thought I’d have trouble getting past two for this series. The next one in line should actually belong in the best of series about Karachi, but I guess this is the same although I have no idea whether this is a secret or not. Maybe I should just rename this as Karachi’s Best instead of Best kept secrets. Oh hell what’s in a name anyway…. I introduce to you, the best food court in town….. Dolmen Mall’s food court. Where else can you get so many different varieties all on the same floor. Here’s a list of who’s who over there:
Plus there are atleast three more that I know are there but can’t really remember their names, including one that provides BBQ, then there’s a Chinese food stall and an Italian one as well. I think that’s about it, there can be more but for sure cannot be less than the ones I have mentioned already. So if you have to take out two or three kids out to eat, each with a different choice while you and your Mrs. want something entirely different, chances are that this is the place which will satisfy each and everyone in one go.
And if that’s not enough, there’s the usual Magic corn, Nachos and Mini Melt stalls scattered around the mall plus a bakery as well.

So much excitement by the Chief Justice today.
mmmmmm. i miss going out to all those places.
Yum…I would go to Karachi just for this! err..and while I’m there I COULD shop as well.
We have food courts here in Cal too but none of it is Halal! Hey, I am a food fan!
Jalal: Whats up with u and the CJP?? The Jasmine revolution??? You didn’t go to lahore did ya? is that the reason for the non activity on your blog?
Shobz: dont worry, u’ll be back soon enuff
SK: I thought u were from Khi all along. but nice to know u r a food fan….. btw, good luck eating tuna sandwiches
ukh! Sick of ‘em! I want KFC and EVERYTHING else you listed above!
And no I am not a fatto, despite my love of food!
Nooo..not in Kar…born there but then grew up in Dubai and came here 11 yrs ago..
Lol yeah i know what you mean.. but u know
Subway’s tuna isn’t that bad… oh and what about those chinese food places with their shrimp fried rice and all that?? oh and also the regular weekend diet…. Pizza with fruit and vege toppings of your choice
A man who knows his food well!
err…subway is good, but then compare subway to KFC, and you would pick..?
Also, chinese food places are my fav., but then if its not a halal chinese rest., they put pork broth or chicken broth in every dish, even shrimp and all. When your choice of eating out is Pizza or subway for a long time, you get sick of both!
And err…’regular weekend diet’…????!!!
They do??? Well, i used to eat the shrimp fried or the vege fried rice there, didn’t knew about this stuff.
anyway, don’t you know the regular weekend diet? You have to order a pizza in once every weekend. rent a couple of movies, invite your friends and have a blast… actually that was the student life i dont knwo what a teacher’s life is..
Yuk! ‘You got pork in you…and it’s coming through!’ hahaha
Kidding. Yeah usually people are not aware of that. We had neighbours from that part of the world for a while, so that’s how we found out.
A teacher’s life would be to crash the party and say “Khabardaar…sone ka time hai. la hawla wala quwat! Pizza?!! Uff…hamare zamane mein…”
And I am a part time teacher; weekdays I work for a non profit, DIL, who work for girls’ education in Pak. (There you have my resume now). More imp. though I have been volunteered to be a single mom of a gorgeous child (biased? Moi?!), so partying comes once a while….when I’m not busy trying to find my sanity and worrying about ‘how am I gonna raise her alone?!’ Will do it of course, but need to worry about it as well
So U have family here? You mentioned you were here….slowwwwwwww zaggy.
Ohhhh how DULL….. ohhh how i sympathize the poor soul that is your child
tsk tsk tsk…. waisay partying doesn’t just mean pizza and friends and video games or movie, it could also mean u two going off to a road trip, or a park or somewhere…. hopefully u r doing that… or should i send u a guide book?
and pllllleeeeaaaasseeee don’t use any advice from that how to make friends book on your daughter
Just because i mentioned i was there, doesn’t mean i have family there….. ohhhh how sloowwww can u get
haha…YOU were the one referring to partying as ‘pizza, friends adn v/games/movie’…not moi. yeah and I am doing the ‘park, going out and having fun stuff with my daughter thank you. Adults (vs. bachas like you!) prefer to call that ‘bonding with your child’!
The word ‘partying’ just takes a back seat when you’re also always worried about your kiddos future…bonding takes priority. Oh! Forgot abour your ADD thing (err…attention deficit problem, zag!). Will try to limit my comments to 2-3 immature lines next time!
And no, plllllleeeeaaaaaaaasssee don not send my daughter ‘the guide to a moron’s world’. That’s fine for you, but we have better plans for our lives ahead!
And I don’t use the ‘how to tolerate morons..oops I meant how to win friends…book with her. That’s just for ‘special’ people (kids) like you!
And need i say it again?…hmm…DUH! Asking you if you had family here, was a polite way of asking ‘hey, so when have you been here?’ Guess you have not reading ‘the book’!!
ukh! Sick of ‘em! I want KFC and EVERYTHING else you listed above! And no I am not a fatto, despite my love of food!
