Karachi’s best kept secrets – Part 1

Actually these are not the best kept secrets, in fact they are not secrets at all. But I just wanted to have a dramatic title for the post and hence…….. I did thought of naming them Karachi’s worst kept secrets but it didn’t had the same effect :)

So why part 1? Well because I just want to keep this thing open in case I come up with more things that should be added in future. And for the first part I present you, Karachi’s best kept secret………. HENNY’S.

Lol…. Okay so I guess most people know about this one, but when a sandwich chain, providing absolutely great sandwiches at reasonably low prices (actually they were very low before they raised their prices) has to close down two of the three kiosks in Karachi because of the lack of business, u know not many people know about it. I mean cmon, this is food we are talking about and this is the best business in Karachi next to opening a school.

As for the proportions, if you get one of their larger sandwiches at the Forum, along with a brownie from the adjacent Ebco bakery (personal favorite, Espresso Brownie), chances are you will not be able to eat anything else for lunch/dinner.

    1. The bean salad is the only thing which I like to buy from the adjacent Ebco bakery and the Brownies and pastries are ok.

    2. Salma: Never had the bean salad there, but have you tried the Espresso Brownie there? It’s really really good if u like coffee that is.

    3. hmmm i love their sandwiches. sad that i cant eat them here :(

    4. In Lahore?

    5. ‘this is food we are talking about and this is the best business in Karachi next to opening a school.’…true, very true…though sometimes the food business is given even more importance than the educational sector there, isn’t it? :)

    6. Well….. the educational sector isn’t given importance because it is the most important part of the society and because of it the next generation gets ready to face the challenges, but instead it is used to fleece the parents because the government has just about abondon the public schooling system….

    7. :) O.k I think I got that…and if I did, “Yep!” ;)
